Positive Psychology
Positive Psychology is the scientific study of the strengths that enable individuals, organisations and communities to thrive. It is based on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, and offers ways to cultivate what is best within us in order to enhance our experience of love, work, and play.

Positive Psychology Interventions (PPIs) are designed to enhance well-being and promote a state of flourishing. There are five elements of well-being:
Positive emotion
Engagement
Positive relationships
Meaning
Accomplishment
PPIs focus on using positive emotions and strengths to help you:

• Discover ways to know yourself better
• Ease emotional pain and confusion
• Develop better ways to cope with behavioural problems
• Reduce negative and unhealthy thoughts
• Teach you how to utilise your skills and abilities to help the wider community
• Build positive relationships at home and at work
• Encourage a positive outlook
